Does anyone shop for organics at Food Lion?

I typically DON'T, but Tropical Storm Ida flooded our local bridge last week and I couldn't get to my regular store (Giant), so I did my weekly shopping at Food Lion. The one nearest to me has a decent selection of natural and organic products--small produce section, dedicated section of naturals/organics, including some hard-to-find-anywhere-else products--Back to Nature nuts (I like them because they are dry roasted with only sea salt added), GT's kombucha (I almost fell over the first time I saw kombucha in Food Lion! LOL!).

The one thing I can't stand, however, is that their weekly circulars (at least in my area...probably b/c not all of their stores carry the number of organics that this store does), don't advertise their natural/organic specials. They *have* specials, they just don't put them in the flyer. I'd be much more likely to shop there, knowing the deals ahead of time. Does anyone else get the organic specials in their circular? Just curious. :smile5:

It's another week, Giant shoppers! Giant is promoting holiday items this week, but unfotunately, not a lot of organic ones.

Their Holiday Rewards (http://www.giantfood.com/savings/card/holiday_rewards.htm) incentive is still running--accumulate points just by shopping and get a reward coupon for a percentage off a future order.

*Nature's Promise all-natural turkeys* are advertised at $1.99/lb for fresh birds and $1.69/lb for frozen.

Other good deals: *Stacy's Pita Chips* are 2 for $4 and there are a few coupons to be found, including a recent insert for $1 off 1 bag....*Kashi TLC Crackers* (all varieties) 2 for $5....16 oz bottles of *Newman's Own salad dressing* are $2.99.

Honestly, I'm disapointed in Giant's organic specials lately. There were a few good weeks a while back, but lately, it seems that there aren't many specials on organics/naturals beyond their store brand items. Any other Giant shoppers feel the same? I still shop there, because they carry things I can't get anywhere else and I do find their customer service to be above and beyond any other chain grocery in my area. Any thoughts from fellow shoppers? Feel free to chime in with your thoughts! And happy turkey day, everyone! :smile5:

Just joined and wanted to say Hi. I live in Mississippi with my husband, 16 rescued dogs, nine rescued cats, five horses, three chickens and one rescued duck. I have two grown children and two grandchildren. My son is a vegetarian and eats organically. I'm working on helping my daughter go organic. She's the one who told me about this website!

We live on a large farm that is a certified wildlife refuge and grow some of our own produce in our organic garden. I'm always looking for coupons to help me save money at the grocery store. We don't eat beef (substitute venison instead), ham or non-organic chicken and I try to buy most of our groceries in the organic section of the store.

Anyway, I could go on and on, but won't bore you any longer. :hi7:
